BLYM News December 2018
Are you looking from some amazing Christmas gifts?
What about a 2019 RYA sailing course?
Gift vouchers are available and they make an extra-special Christmas present (please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org). Many of our sailers last year were introduced through a birthday or Christmas present. The full programme of RYA courses is now available to book at www.blym.org.uk/courses.
How about some sailing kit?
We also have chandlery special offers until 15th January: all gloves and footwear 10% off BLYM's already low prices, please send an email to email@example.com.
On your marks, get set… Grow Your Tenner!
Are you able to donate £10 a month to BLYM? £10 a month will grow into £200 through the Grow Your Tenner campaign managed by Local Giving. Grow Your Tenner 2018 will be launching on 11th December 2018. Grow Your Tenner 2018 is aimed at helping local charities and community groups to attract and maintain long term donors. Please note that donations made before 10am will not be matched and the match funding pot is limited.
Start date and time: 10am on Tuesday 11th of December 2018 with limited funds available to secure the matched donations.
How does it work? Monthly donations set up during Grow Your Tenner are being matched up to £10. The matching will take place after the first 6 donations. Once you have donated £60 through your monthly donations of £10 on Local Giving, an extra £10 will be added to your donation through the Grow Your Tenner campaign. You don't need to do anything else.

A night of celebrations
Our laying up supper was a great success, showcased by the attendance of the many groups representing and reflecting the broad diversity of the BLYM family. The highlight of the evening was our awards ceremony, hosted by Mark Colston and Rob Arthur presenting awards to volunteers who have gone above and beyond, showing great dedication and accomplishments at the club.
A special mention to Gillian Jones for organising the event and the host, Fairway Inn, who did a brilliant job looking after us.
Many thanks for your help in 2018
On our last day of general sailing, we had a large number of fantastic volunteers who helped to put the BLYM equipment away for the winter. All the boats now have covers on, and most of them are stored away in the large boat park. Many thanks for your help, and many thanks to everyone who has helped throughout 2018. Sailing at BLYM would not be possible without the work of our many volunteers. One of the real joys this holiday season is the opportunity to say thank you and wish you the very best for the new year.

What's the latest on our Building Project?
Wow that was quick! The Boat House building frame has now been erected and it won't be long before the walls go up. The exterior of the Wet Zone in our main building is now complete, and the interior plumbing and electrical work is under way. Construction work is on schedule for completion in the Spring. It's getting more exciting by the day! Come down and take a look.

Do you own a boat and is it in the BLYM Boat Park?
IMPORTANT YOU NEED TO READ THIS
If you have a boat stored at BLYM and you've not been contacted yet, please help us and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
We are performing an audit of all private and group boats stored at BLYM. We will be adding a contact name and contact details to your boat trolley to improve our ability to manage the park. We'll also make some updates to our website so that memberships with berths include a pre-arranged berth location. We've updated our Boat Park Policy to reflect these changes.
Unfortunately, we do have boats abandoned or unauthorised in our Boat Park and, as the Boat Park Policy states, we may need to take steps to remove, sell or dispose of boats and/or trailers.
