Bury Lake Young Mariners (BLYM) is an award-winning local youth charity (No. 1102162) and we are run entirely by over 300 volunteers at the picturesque Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
For 40 years, we have promoted the development of life skills in young people through the medium of sailing and related activities and we take over 6000 people onto the water each year.
We operate an all-inclusive club and welcome new members. Please see the Membership pages for details.
All of our sailing and powerboat courses are certified by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and are available to anyone from aged 9 upwards to adults. We also offer short fun sessions for 7-9 year-olds.
This year, BLYM celebrates it's 40th anniversary and as such, we will be holding various events to celebrate. Keep an eye out for more details as the year progresses!
Cashless October at BLYM
Starting from Tuesday 1st October, BLYM will be trialling going cashless for the sale of drinks, snacks and other payments from the galley until Friday 1st November. If this trial proves successful, then BLYM may remain cashless indefinitely, however you will be notified about this in due course.
If you are attending any BLYM activity in October - anything from a sailing course to general sailing on a Saturday, please do not bring cash as there will be no cash held in the till.
You can still purchase items from the galley as normal, however please note the £1.00 minimum card payment amount.

This year it's being held at the Rose and Crown, Harefield (WD3 1PP) on the 30th November from 7:00pm until late.
All members are welcome to come along and enjoy a delicious meal, a quiz, a raffle and of course, the infamous participating awards.
A form will be sent out later to collect your menu choices
Carrying on the tradition from last year, we will be holding our annual awards ceremony. To find out why they were nominated, join us on the evening in celebration of their hard work.
Please ensure to book your place to avoid disappointment.
