Who are we?
The Youth Team is a close-knit team of Sailing instructors, leaders and volunteers. Every single one of us contributes our own strengths and ideas to the group to ensure the club is centred around the younger generation. With each year, the Youth Team grows stronger and we’re proud to be so central and have so much influence within BLYM at such a young age.
Keep an eye out below, and in the monthly members newsletter, for the upcoming fundraising and club bonding events we plan to organise, as they promise to be extremely fun and welcoming.

Our Events
This year, BLYMs annual Funday will be held on Sunday the 3rd of July 2022, where anyone from the ages of 9 to 18 years old are able to come and enjoy a day of water-based fun and games. A huge range of activities is available, including activities such as raft building! We also offer kayaking and various other activities, followed by a tasty BBQ that even the adults can come and enjoy. The day is hosted by the Youth Team and run by our expert instructors, in a safe and fun environment where the kids are highly supervised. Hope to see you all there as it’s definitely not a date to be missed!

Also coming up in 2022, are our four Summer Members' Barbeques, where you can enjoy a social barbeque, with general sailing and a meal (all included in the price of your ticket)!
On Thursday 23rd of December, the Youth Team organised a bag-packing event at the clubs local Waitrose supermarket. We had a fantastic turnout of volunteers and after 8 hours of packing bags and collecting donations from shoppers, a whopping £1200 was raised. This event would also not have been possible without the Big BLYM Band, composed of many musicians who drew attention to the event with their festive Christmas songs. With the event being such a hit, we plan for this to continue as an annual event and will strive to raise even more money in the future.
