Bury Lake Young Mariners (BLYM) is an award-winning local youth charity (No. 1102162) and we are run entirely by over 300 volunteers at the picturesque Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
For 40 years, we have promoted the development of life skills in young people through the medium of sailing and related activities and we take over 6000 people onto the water each year.
We operate an all-inclusive club and welcome new members. Please see the Membership pages for details.
All of our sailing and powerboat courses are certified by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and are available to anyone from aged 9 upwards to adults. We also offer short fun sessions for 7-9 year-olds.
This year, BLYM celebrates it's 40th anniversary and as such, we will be holding various events to celebrate. Keep an eye out for more details as the year progresses!

Jazz on the Patio
On Saturday 7th September, the Youth Team is hosting Jazz on the Patio! We will have live jazz music from a local band as well as refreshments, although feel free to bring your own food and drinks. Included in your ticket will be a full day of general sailing and a BBQ. There will also be a Bake-off competition, so please bring cakes or sweet treats to be judged and shared out after. The Youth Team hopes to see you all down soon for a fun, relaxing evening of music! |
Splash Club
Splash Club is back this Wednesday (5th June) and will run until the first Wednesday of September, offering an unbeatable opportunity to enjoy general sailing from 4pm to 8pm for just £5.00 per person.
It's the perfect chance for those who have recently completed sailing courses to hone their skills and have some fun on the water. No website sign-up is required – simply turn up and sail!
We're also calling on all wardens and assistant wardens to sign up online for warden duty (for Splash Club and General Sailing on Saturdays) - please do your part to help us make this season a success. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
