Note: We will not accept candidates for this course unless at lease one season's Powerboating experience has been logged since taking RYA Powerboat Level 2.
Course Summary
A two day weekend course covering skills and techniques used in rescue situations using powered craft. You must already hold powerboat Levels 1 and 2 and have at least a seasons power boating experience to ensure you take the most away from this course. Recommended methods will be taught and evaluated with heavy emphasis on approaching each situation in a carefully calculated manner each time and reacting accordingly. Practical exercises provide essential practice and the sharing of experiences from each of the participants allows everyone to learn alongside each other. Sessions include, rescuing from a lee shore, man over board and assisting other water users especially windsurfers and kayakers as these are common on BLYM.

This RYA course is held under the Bury Lake Young Mariners Recognised Training Centre at our base at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome. The maximum Instructor to Student Ratio is: 1:6 and the minimum duration for the course is 2 Days. The following material is provided to you as part of your course:
