Every donation helps, and every pound and penny raised will make a huge difference to our charity.
There are many ways you can help raise money; you can buy a brick that will be embossed with your personal message and displayed in the new clubhouse building. These bricks will allow future generations to recognise the contributions of members past and present. You can use LocalGiving to make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation or you can use easyfundraising and we can collect free donations every time you buy something online (it won't cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds).
LocalGiving - Magic Little Grants
Many thanks to LocalGiving and their Magic Little Grants initiative. In April 2020 we were granted £500 for the purchase of new radios. Radios are in regular use throughout our sailing sessions to provide fast and efficient communication between instructors and between the duty warden and instructors. We are very grateful for this grant that has been put to great use and improved our safety coverage.
Co-op Community Fund
The Co-op has very kindly selected BLYM as one of the local causes that the Co-op Local Community Fund will support via its stores and businesses, until the end of October 2022. This is an opportunity to raise some funds and to promote BLYM.
So, how can you help?
BLYM’s members can help maximise the funds raised if they shop in Co-op Group stores or buy services from Co-op businesses across the UK. BLYM’s members can also help to promote this opportunity via their families and friends. Here is how to get started:
- Become a member of the Co-op and nominate BLYM as your preferred local cause (it costs £1 to do so). You can do this through the link below. https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/64261
- You must swipe or scan your blue membership card when you shop to collect rewards and contribute to BLYM.
- Every time members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to the member, 1p goes to BLYM and 1p to support community organisations.
- Please encourage your friends and family to do the same. One way of doing this is to copy and paste the link to BLYM’s cause profile page below and share on social media, encouraging your followers to share this too.
Anyone who is a member of the Co-op and has nominated BLYM as their preferred cause can help when they shop and swipe their card at a Co-op Group store anywhere in the UK.
The link above leads to a web page that also shows the amount of money raised to date.
BLYM is one of 3 local causes supported by the 2 Co-ops in Croxley Green (New Road & Watford Road) & Funeralcare in New Road.
At the end of the funding round, if members shopping at these stores have not chosen a cause their accrued funds are split between all the causes supported by the stores.
There is one thing to be aware of: this opportunity only applies to Coop Group stores – although this includes stores anywhere in the country. Local examples of Co-op Group stores include the Croxley Green stores above and branches in Harefield, Ickenham, Watford - St Albans Road, Northwood Hills, Carpenders Park, Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles, Borehamwood to name a few!
